The Sensitive Technologies Company is not a threat, CEO Mark Stitt said in a statement posted Wednesday by its Facebook page.
The statement said the company “is not the enemy of the Internet.”
Stitt, who joined the company as a product manager last fall, said he wanted to highlight the “incredible work that our team does to keep the Internet safe and secure.”
The company is also a “home to a very talented and committed group of engineers,” the statement said.
Stitt said the Facebook post had no bearing on the decision to shutter the company, which had just announced plans to move to a new headquarters in New York.
The company said in February that it was shutting down.
